Spouse Contributions

Spouse Contributions:

Making contributions to super on behalf of your spouse can help build your joint savings, and may also provide tax benefits.

If your spouse’s assessable income including reportable fringe benefits is less than $13,800 for the financial year, as the contributing spouse, you may be eligible to receive a tax offset of up to 18% on the first $3,000 that you contribute to their account. That could potentially equal $540 rebate from the Government at tax time.
