Chief Executive Officer
Brendan joined Intrust Super in May 2005 as Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the overall management of the fund and providing advice to the Board of Directors. He passionately believes education is critical in super due to the ever changing nature of the industry.

Brendan has worked in the superannuation industry for more than 25 years in various roles including General Manager positions with corporate and government funds. He is also a current Board Director of the Sisters of Mercy Staff Superannuation Scheme.
Brendan holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), a Diploma of Superannuation Management (Dip SM) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He has also completed a strategic management course through the Wharton Business School and is a Fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds Australia (FASFA) and Trustee Fellow of Association of Superannuation Funds Australia (TFASFA).

Executive Manager, Service and Sales
Daryl joined Intrust Super in August 2014 and brings over 25 years’ experience in the finance, investment and superannuation sectors to the role.
Prior to joining Intrust Super, Daryl held positions in superannuation business development and client service across a range of industries- including the Hospitality and Sporting sectors – and was responsible for providing employers and members with innovative and effective superannuation solutions.
At Intrust Super, Daryl is responsible for the management of the Client Service and Sales team.
Daryl is RG 146 compliant, holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), a Diploma of Superannuation Management (Dip SM) and is a Fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds Australia (FASFA) and the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (FAIST).
Senior Client Services Manager
Michelle joined Intrust Super in October 2015 and brings over 10 years experience in the finance, banking and superannuation sectors to the role.
Prior to joining Intrust Super, Michelle held numerous positions with Macquarie Bank and prior to this held specialised roles within the superannuation industry. Michelles previous leadership roles focused heavily on the provision of exceptional client service and innovative solutions.
At Intrust, Michelle leads the team of the client service managers, who form part of the wider Service and Sales team.
Michelle is RG146 compliant and holds Diplomas of Financial Services (Financial Services, Superannuation and Risk Management).
North Queensland Office
Business Development Manager, North and Central Queensland and Northern Territory
Rhonda Joined Intrust Super in November 2015. She has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, including but not limited to financial planning, small business management and branch management in banking.
Rhonda enjoys being able to help people understand financial services by taking away the jargon and explaining the industry in plain English. By making superannuation simple for both employers and employees, Rhonda ensures to find the best possible solution for all situations.
Rhonda is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors GAICD, and is a Commissioner for DeclarationsQLD.
New South Wales Office
Business Development Manager, Sydney
Mal has had over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. Previous to joining Intrust Super, Mal held Business Development and Account Management positions with ANZ Financial Planning and Commonwealth Bank Financial Planning.
At Intrust Super Mal will be responsible for providing employer solutions to new and existing clients in the NSW/ACT regions.
Mal is RG146 compliant, holds a Diploma of Financial Planning from The Financial Planning Association of Australia and a Certificate of Superannuation Management. Mal is also a Justice of the Peace. With these qualifications and extensive experience he is well qualified to help clients achieve their superannuation-related goals.
Intrust Super was established in 1988 as a joint initiative of the Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) and United Voice Qld State Branch (formerly the Liquor, Hospitality Miscellaneous Workers Union Qld Branch). Employee and employer directors of Intrust Super are equally represented on the Trustee Board, with three Member Representatives appointed by United Voice and three Employer Representatives appointed by QHA.
Both the QHA and United Voice Qld State Branch may remove any director they themselves have appointed by notice in writing.
Gary Bullock grew up in the Bayside suburbs of Brisbane. He worked in the hospitality and public sector before taking up a position at Taubmans Paints. While working in the paint industry, Gary joined United Voice (Qld Branch), formerly the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union (LHMU Qld branch). He became a delegate before taking up a full-time position as Organiser. He is currently the State Secretary. Gary was appointed the Intrust Super Board of Directors Chairperson in late 2016.
In his free time Gary enjoys boating, fishing and four-wheel-driving.
Justin O’Connor is the former Chief Executive of the Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) and was appointed a member of Intrust Super’s Trustee Board in 2007. The QHA is the peak industry body for the hotel and hospitality industries in Queensland. Its primary objective is to bring about legislative, regulatory and industry outcomes that are favourable to the interests of its members and the wider hotel, hospitality and tourism industries.
The association also provides a range of services to members including employment relations, human relationsand industrial relations advice and services, as well as vocational and industry training, workplace health and safety services and business development assistance.
Against this background, Justin sees the availability of a high-quality, Queensland-based industry superannuation fund such as Intrust Super as being of significant benefit for all participants in Queensland’s hotel and hospitality industries.

Justin is a former senior Queensland public official, having been appointed as Chief Executive of the Office of the Queensland Governor from 1995 to 2005. Before that, Justin was a commissioned officer in the Australian Army, having graduated from the Royal Military College in 1975. He was born and raised in Coonamble, New South Wales, and now lives in Brisbane with his wife, Heather, and their three children.
Justin has a Bachlelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales.
As Operations Coordinator for Australia’s hospitality industry union, United Voice (Qld branch), formerly the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union (Qld branch), Fiona Scalon commands a wealth of experience and knowledge of the issues facing employees and employers in the sector. With over 120,000 United Voice members, Fiona oversees the day-to-day operations of a large and powerful membership-based organisation, placing her well to act as Trustee Director of Intrust Super.

Fiona has worked tirelessly to ensure that workplaces in the sector offer safe and rewarding jobs. As a Trustee, Fiona brings this passion to superannuation, ensuring that Intrust Super contributes to a positive future for everyone involved in the industry.
Charles has a long and highly respected history as a key member of a very successful hotel industry family.
He has served on many different Boards in the past, such as Queensland Government advisory panels as well as the Boards of the Queensland Hotels Association and the Australian Hotels Association for more than 20 years including terms as President of both organisations. Charles has been honoured with a Life Membership of both associations and has also had an extensive and impeccable record of community service over many years.
Charles has been responsible for day-to-day management of staff, financing, marketing, governance and industry compliance. He carries this vast experience into his role as an Intrust Super Director, an office he has held previously.
Charles has a Bachelor of Business and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Troy is the founding director of Reveille Strategy Pty Ltd, an organisation focussed on the delivery of campaign and communication services to a range of political, industrial and non-government organisation clients. Holding a Bachelor of Arts, Troy has extensive experience in working for a number of union organisations, most recently as the National Assistant Secretary of United Voice between 2006 and 2013. Troy brings to Intrust Super strong governance and Board expertise having been a director of Host Plus between 2010 and 2013 and a member of the Investor Advisory Board of Lend Lease APPF between 2011 and 2013.
Dr Michael Wilson
Michael has extensive experience across the areas of law and business. Michael is a barrister at the Queensland private bar with a wide ranging commercial practice. In a previous career Michael provided strategic and business planning advice including business plans to significant organisations such as Coles Myer, Bundaberg Sugar, the Queensland State Emergency Service and the Queensland Government’s Sunwater. In 1998 Michael prepared a business plan for Intrust Super’s predecessor, Host Super. From 2000 to 2012 Michael was a member of the Queensland Liquor and Gaming Commission and Chairman of the Commission for the last six years of that time. He has also been a board member of the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation and the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA). In his spare time, Michael is the manager of the UQ Red Heavies 4th and 5th grade rugby teams.
Michael has Barristers Admissions Board Examinations with Honours, is a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford University, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with Honours from University of Queensland.
