All hands on deck for hotel renovation Mar 15, 2021
After a truly devastating year, it was fantastic to hear innovative stories from hospitality and tourism venues that pivoted to new business ventures and made the most of the lockdown period.
For the team at Brisbane hotel, Constance, the six-month period of COVID restrictions became an opportunity to completely renovate the whole property.
The hotel’s staff turned to painting, decorating, flooring and deep cleaning to prepare the hotel for its reopening.
General Manager, Jason Pratt, told AccomNews the hotel’s return was made possible thanks to the teamwork and positivity of its staff and suppliers.
“We have a small, tight-knit team who dug in when COVID-19 forced us to temporarily close and worked alongside us to refresh and rebrand until we were ready to welcome guests again,” Mr Pratt said.
“Our hardworking housekeeping team carefully and extensively deep cleaned every guest room, they meticulously cleaned carpets, detailed the guest bathrooms, painted and refreshed every inch of the rooms.
“The team also re-did all of the wooden floors on every floor and in the foyer.”
The grand reopening occurred in October 2020. The Constance welcomed returning guests with newly renovated open-plan hotel rooms, free tech inclusions and a new rooftop bar, the Dirty Sultan. A truly fantastic effort by the Constance team!
